I live North Carolina, and I love football. Those two things didn’t always releate to each other. Then, we got our expansion team in 1993. I admit freely that I did a major happy dance. “Thank you, Jerry Richardson!! I have a home team!”
I have watched the Carolina Panthers since then, through the ups and the downs. I am proud of it all. And now, I get to watch my Panthers play in Superbowl 50, their second Superbowl appearance since the beginning of the franchise.
I am so excited, I can barely contain it! The big day is almost here.
I like and respect Peyton Manning, and the Broncos, but I LOVE my Panthers. No matter what, I will always be a part of the Panthers Nation. #KeepPounding
I enjoyed a good game last night. The fourth quarter made the game for me. It held the most excitement of the whole game, including the half-time show. I know that Madonna is known for putting on an awesome show, but I thought the half-time show last night was a little bit lame…full of just as much posing as singing (not dancing necessarily, just posing). I confess I expected more.
As for the game, I expected a pulse pounding fourth quarter battle and they did not disappoint. Excitement lasted until the very last second. Well done to both teams. I must confess I was pulling for the Giants…I love Eli Manning.
The problem now is that it will be MONTHS before I can watch NFL games again. While that is exceedingly sad, I am still excited by college hoops…UNC Tarheels. I’m looking forward to the ACC Tournament and the NCAA. I’m glad I have plenty of sports to help me through all of the football I’ll be missing.
